Signs And Symptoms Of COVID-19 In KidsAugust 9, 2020 2:50 pm
One of the most challenging things for caregivers this fall will be to identify kids who have COVID-19. The signs and symptoms of COVID-19 can be very similar to those of a common cold or even the flu. Caregivers should be aware of the signs and immediately report any child who is having any of the following symptoms:
- Sore throat
The trickiest part about identifying kids, or anyone for that matter, that they may have COVID-19 is how similar these symptoms are to other seasonal illness that are, in most cases, less serious then a COVID-19 diagnosis.
Also, it’s important for caregivers to be aware that many school aged children and adults alike are often asymptomatic which means that they will not be exhibiting these symptoms but that they are still carriers of the virus. While there is not much you can do to identify a child who is a carrier, you must spend time working on social distancing and mask wearing with all children to prevent spread.
