Here on our website we celebrate a lot of #WorldHealthDays and we do that because of the first ever world health day, #WorldAidsDay. Each year on December 1st, the world comes together to support those who are living with HIV, who have died from an AIDS related illness, and to unite in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

There are some incredibly stark numbers relating to HIV/AIDS given that it only surfaced in 1984. Worldwide there are currently approximately 38 million people living with HIV.

As we continue to live through the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s important to note that HIV/AIDS remains one of the deadliest pandemics in modern history with over 35 million people having died from this terrible disease.

It is important to continue to recognize World Aids Day as a way of bringing awareness to the disease and reminding world leaders and the public at large that this disease has not gone away and that while things have gotten better, it is still deadly and serious.

If you want to show your support you can “Rock A Ribbon” today. Wearing a red ribbon symbolizes your support for awareness and funding of critical research and health resources that are required to continue to battle this terrible disease.
