It is a day that many thought would never come. More then a year ago mask mandates became a fact of day to day life in the United States and around the world. This week, the United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released new guidance that indicated that in most cases, individuals who are fully vaccinated from the Coronavirus can now go without a mask both indoors and outdoors.

The guidance comes as more and more Americans are vaccinated and with the backdrop of kids 12-15 now being eligible to receive the vaccine. With this new guidance a new “normal” is emerging for many who have struggled with wearing a mask throughout the pandemic.

While not all indoor spaces are included in the new guidance, most are. The CDC indicated that masks should still be worn on airplanes, on public transportation, inside hospitals, and local businesses that continue to require masks indoors.

Along with the new guidance the CDC issued a very helpful guide to help understand where masks are necessary still and where they are not required. It is below.
