COVID-19 Vaccine Update: All Adults Eligible Tomorrow

The state of Connecticut continues to exceed expectations on vaccine distribution as tomorrow marks the first day of eligibility for all adults over the age of 16 years old in the state. If you are over the age of 16 you can make an appointment to get the COVID-19 vaccine tomorrow.

There are three different vaccines, the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are both two doses while the Johnson & Johnson shot is a single shot and a single appointment. We have detailed the difference here. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) it does not matter which vaccine you receive.

As all adults will be eligible to receive the vaccine the demand will grow throughout the state and appointments may be somewhat hard to come by. This is the largest group of eligible adults to be opened up all at one time and therefore Governor Lamont has urged patience and has asked that anyone that can wait, should wait until the demand has subsided a little bit.

If you are planning on getting the vaccine you can read all about the process here.

If you are already vaccinated and can help someone who has not been vaccinated yet, you can do that as well as a nice gesture for all those that were lucky enough to get in line first.

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout does not mean that we should do away with mitigation strategies like social distance and mask wearing. These should continue until new CDC has issued updated guidance.
