Spring has sprung and as the trees bloom and the weather warms, we are thinking of ways to kick our health into high gear. We may not be quite ready for bathing suit weather, but a few small changes to your health routine can leave you healthier and more fulfilled as the spring months turn into summer

Not everyone has the same health goals, but we can all do one or two little things that will have a big impact on our physical, emotional, and mental health.

  1. Freshen up your plate with in-season fruits and veggies. The spring and summer months are among the easiest to find delicious fruits and vegetables, many of which are grown right here in Connecticut. Visit a farmers market and load up on locally grown delectable and healthy fruits and vegetables. This has the added benefit of supporting a local farmer which is good for your mental health as well.
  2. Commit to hydration. There is no better cure for what ails you then to load up on the recommended daily allowance of water. Drinking enough water can have lasting affects on your overall health. If you are dehydrated you may suffer from headaches and other ailments that can be avoided by simply drinking enough water.
  3. Get outside. Being inside for so many months is not good for your emotional or mental health. It is also not great for your physical health. There is no greater healing power then that of nature. Spending time outside with the sunshine on your face will do wonders for your overall health.

There are so many small things you can do to improve your overall health and starting with the three things above will make a dramatic impact on you going forward.
