How You Can Continue To Protect Yourself As COVID-19 Cases Flare Up Again In Connecticut

The Director of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) just this week warned of “impending doom” in the battle against COVID-19. Connecticut was just ranked as the third highest in the nation as a result of COVID cases per capita. While many are tired and weary of all the restrictions and precautions, one thing is for sure, there is still reason for concern.

As more and more Connecticut residents get vaccinated there are things that can improve, but we must also maintain our resilience in the face of some continued restrictions. All residents, vaccinated or not, should keep the following guidance in mind as you continue to live your life during a pandemic.

  1. Wear your mask.
  2. Wash your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds.
  3. Maintain social distance
  4. Gather outside whenever possible
  5. Gatherings inside should include only immediate members of the same household.
  6. Restrict non-essential travel
  7. If exposed to someone with COVID-19, self-quarantine for 10 days

It can be so difficult as the news on vaccinations continues to be good to continue following this guidance, but it is critical to this virus getting beaten for us all to remain vigilant. There will come a time, in the very near future, where life will truly return back to “normal,” but we still have some time to go before we get there and if we all do our part we will get there sooner.
