Until now there have been significant restrictions on who could be vaccinated against the Coronavirus here in Connecticut. Until now the age restriction was for those 65 years and older and first responders/health care workers. That is about to change.

On Monday, Governor Lamont released the latest information on who will be receiving vaccinations and when. The following categories of people will be eligible;

March 1st, 2021 – Ages 55-64

March 22nd, 2021 – Ages 45-54

April 12th, 2021 – Ages 35-44

May 3rd, 2021 – Ages 16-34

This aggressive timeline has been set forth by the Governor so that some of the guessing that has surrounded the vaccine rollout can be eliminated and now there is clear guidance on who will get the vaccinations and when.

Another item of note in the Governor’s announcement was that teachers and other early childhood educators will be prioritized and will be eligible to get the vaccinations at dedicated clinics starting on March 1st, regardless of age.
