With the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) the state of Connecticut is taking unprecedented actions to keep residents safe during this uncertain time.  This evening, Governor Ned Lamont announced that all public schools K-12 will be closed from March 17th – March 31st with the possibility of extending the closures depending on the facts surrounding the virus.

This executive order comes just days after the governor agreed to offer waivers to local school districts to allow them to potentially not meet the state mandated 180 days that all students are required to attend for a school year to count.  A waiver of this restriction will give school districts flexibility in the face of prolonged closures.
